Dragon hunter crossbow vs rune crossbow11/18/2023 ![]() ![]() If you miss any specs, those kills are going to feel pretty bad with a blowpipe. Keep in mind that even with amethyst darts, blowpipe loses to the DHCB with 0 defense lowering specs hit still, and only has about a 5.48% lead in kill time with a DWH spec. You have to eat much much more with a blowpipe which drastically lowers your damage and kill per trip potential. However, my original post was making the point that DPS isn't the whole picture with blowpipe vs dhcb. There are tons of factors that can go into why that is. (And just an anti-dragon shield likely is a lot better than blowpipe still) In short, if you can afford a ward + bgs blowpipe isn't good anymore for you. You're spending ~31k per kill with dragon darts or 25.87% of the loot's worth on average. Even if you woox walk poison phases with blowpipe (which isn't impossible to do with crossbow anyway) I'm fairly certain you're consistently going to get better times with a crossbow+ward. ![]() However, with all this in mind the crossbow method has the added benefit of being able to pray ranged which significantly extends trips and reduces the need to eat over the blowpipe method. With dragon darts in the blowpipe it's 6.9977% faster to kill Vorkath with the blowpipe. In a situation in which you can buy a dragonfire ward and with a BGS hitting an average of 27 (this is the average hit if you take accuracy into account), Rune cbow + dragonfire ward kills Vorkath 9.069% faster than blowpipe with adamant darts. Rules of the land ![]() Welcome to /r/2007scape, the place to discuss Old School RuneScape! I’d recommend it for high level PvP and PvM, if you don’t want to break the bank with a more expensive option.Submit a link Submit a text post Submit a game suggestion To tl dr this: it’s a strong primary weapon with an affordable price tag. But better knock out special weapons are often used instead (if you can get them). This special effect is used more for the damage boost against single targets in PvP. It also only has a required range level of 64 to wield, which means it’s the best in slot crossbow between levels 64 and 70.Īnd it’s worth mentioning that it also has a special attack named “Annihilate”, which uses 60% of the special bar and can hit up to 9 enemies in a 3×3 tile area.Īdditionally, whoever the primary target is of this attack, will take 20% extra damage while all other targets in the 3×3 area will take 20% less damage. And it sees widespread use by players who are strapped for cash. This puts it squarely in the middle of the two.Īs a result, the Dragon Crossbow is a decent choice for most battles. Well, the Dragon Crossbow has a +94 range attack bonus – which is +4 better than a Rune Crossbow, and slightly worse than the Armadyl Crossbow’s +100 bonus. ![]()
